Media FX Overview
The concept behind Digital Media FX magazine originated in early
2001 in order to provide animators, FX artists, students, and
animation enthusiasts with the latest original news, articles,
techniques, interactivity, features, and community experience
that help bring the power of imagination to life. The online magazine
started beta testing on February 18, 2001 and officially opened
to the public on Monday, March 5, 2001.
FX is an online magazine that is free to the public. It is funded
by the publisher, Joe Tracy, and is currently privately held.
an extensive background in the publishing industry, including
being the founding editor and associate publisher of Advanstar
Communications leading computer animation and FX print magazine,
NewTekniques. Tracy is also the author of three books, with his
most recent being Web Marketing Applied. Web Marketing Applied,
being used in several top universities as an Intermet marketing
teaching aid, was released in January 2000 and is currently available
in bookstores everywhere (click

in the work for release in late 2002.
FX is dedicated to providing an interactive, original, and more
