Shrek
Attack - From Trailers to Toys
by Joe Tracy, Publisher of Digital
Media FX Magazine
Two
movie trailers, a behind the scenes teaser, and interactive
toy images are part of Shrek's current world online. This
article takes a look at viewable media, including links
to each one for you to explore.
Trailer
1
DreamWorks first main trailer for Shrek played
a trick on viewers. It starts with the song, "Fairy
tales can come true, it can happen to you" as you
see a small bird fly from its nest as the camera pans
out to show a lovely city. The opening gives you one impression
of what type of movie is coming out until the following
scenes which begin to show the parody that Shrek
is about. Click
here to view the trailer.
Trailer 2
Whereas the first trailer covers what the story is about
and a lot of the parody, the second trailer gets into
some of the action sequences, many involving the dragon.

Behind the Scenes Teaser
The behind the scenes teaser mixes movie clips with comments
from the actors that voice the characters. "Shrek
is a big, green, disgusting character which is why I'm
sure they cast me," says Mike Meyers (who voices
Shrek) in the teaser. There's a lot of good stuff in this
teaser, particularly a scene where the princess plans
exactly how she is suppose to be rescued. Click
