Disney
Kills El Capitan Premiere Party for Snow White DVD
(by digitalmediafx.com) Hollywood has been up in arms in how to
proceed after the devastating September 11 terrorist attacks against
the World Trade Center and White House. Concerns over security,
delicacy issues, and the place of entertainment during such a
time prompted many studios to cancel premieres, move release dates,
edit movies, and even cancel planned productions. Disney is no
exception.
Disney has
canceled its longtime planned premiere party for the Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs DVD that was to take place this Saturday
night at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood. In addition, Disney
has scrapped its Sunday premiere of Max Keebler's Big Move.
The Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs DVD will still be released
on October 9, 2001.

fifth every week in Nielsen ratings behind ABC, CBS, NBC, and
the WB scored a mega victory Wednesday, September 26, with the

scored a strong 9.9/15 rating, enough to propel the network into
second place for the night. As a comparison, the season finale
of Voyager only scored a 2.7/5 rating. Enterprise also enjoyed
a majority of positive critical reviews for the direction it is
going in. The Star Trek series takes place at the very beginning

of the Day - Disney Losing Attraction with Investors
According to The UK Times:
"...The
move is likely to make it difficult for Disney, which currently
has debts of more than $16 billion (£11 billion), to raise
additional funds or refinance existing borrowings.
Michael Eisner,
the chairman and chief executive who last year took home more
than $51 million in salary and options-related bonuses, said that
the group, which has survived several recessions, would bounce
back stronger than ever..."
