Potter Preview Stirs Excitement
Disney Continues
IMAX Support with The Lion King
(by digitalmediafx.com) Disney is continuing to help the slumping
IMAX Corporation with its continued releases of past animated movies to
IMAX screens nationwide. On January 1, 2002, Disney will release Beauty
and the Beast to IMAX screens. According to Big Movie Zone, Disney
announced that it will release The Lion King to IMAX screens in
2003. The announcement took place during a screening for IMAX theater
owners of Beauty and the Beast.

Toy Story Airing
on ABC Sunday Night
(by digitalmediafx.com) Disney is airing Toy Story on its ABC Network
this Sunday night, October 28, as part of the The Wonderful World of Disney.
It airs at 7pm PST/EST. Toy Story was Pixar's first major theatrical
animated movie, making an astonishing $192 million at the domestic box
office when it was released in 1995.

Big Apple Anime
Fest Concludes Tomorrow
(by digitalmediafx.com) The Big Apple anime festival concludes tomorrow
after a successful start on Friday. Opening the festival was the new anime
movie Metropolis (which is also previewed on the Final
Fantasy Special Edition DVD). Several other anime movies, events,
panels, and exhibits will be held through the festival's conclusion tomorrow
night.
Supporting the event
was New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who attended on Friday. Several other
guests of honor were also present including Masao Maruyama, the founder
CEO of Madhouse Studios, one of Japan's biggest and well-known anime production
companies. Last night Yuji Moriyama, the creator behind countless anime
classics from Macross Plus to Geobreeders, was present as part of an anime
panel discussion. He also took time out to sign autographs for the hundreds
of anime fans present.

Day - Potter Preview Stirs Excitement
According to BBC News:
"Cinema goers
have given a sound seal of approval to an advance screening of the Harry
Potter movie, according to reports.
An audience in Chicago
are said to have been "ecstatic" at seeing Harry Potter and
the Sorcerer's Stone - as it is known in the US - on Thursday, according
to the Daily Telegraph..."
