Osmosis
Jones DVD to Have Special Features
(by
digitalmediafx.com) Osmosis Jones, which bombed at the U.S. box
office with only $13.6 million, is coming to DVD
and VHS
on November 13, 2001. Warner Bros. tried to pass the movie off
as family entertainment, even editing it down after an initial
PG-13 rating. Audiences still failed to respond as with several
past animated Warner Bros. adventures, including the highly critical
acclaimed The Iron Giant feature.
Despite the
lack of success at the box office, Warner Bros. is going to extra
lengths to include special features on the Osmosis Jones DVD.
Here's a list of bonuses:
- A "Voices
Inside Frank's Head" commentary from the writer, animation
director and producer.
- The HBO
First Look Special "Under the Microscope."
- "Investigating
the Vocal Cords" -- special behind-the-scenes look at the
recording sessions.
- Frank's
Gross Anatomy -- a special menu feature.
- Deleted
Spleens (Scenes).
- Cast biographies.
- Theatrical
trailer.
- Special
hidden features.
There will
not be an option to only play the animated segments. Here's a
quote from the Amazon.com review: "Osmosis Jones is about
two-thirds animation and one-third live action, which is why two-thirds
of the film is entertaining and funny, and one-third is not."

of the Day - 'Snow White' to Make Digital Debut
According to the Houston Chronicle:
"Perhaps
hand-drawn animation, like Snow White herself, truly is the fairest
of them all.
At a time
when fancy computer work such as Shrek is stealing box-office
thunder from hand-drawn traditionalism, Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs returns, clearing the skies with its beauty, purity and
innocence..."
