Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the RingFX/Animation Films Top Three in Anticipated Movies
(by digitalmediafx.com) Movie ticket seller Fandago has released the results of its Fall/Winter movie member survey which shows that the most anticipated upcoming movie this year is easily Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. Second in the survey was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone followed by Pixar's Monsters, Inc.

"There's every indication that these three films represent just the tip of the iceberg for holiday moviegoing, and that they're going to be enormously popular," said Art Levitt, president and CEO of Fandango. "To hear directly from moviegoers that they are so excited about these movies is a great sign for an industry upswing this fall and winter."

There were more than 10,000 participants in the survey with a majority 52% naming Fellowship of the Ring as the most anticipated upcoming movie of the year.

Civilization III Presales High - Ships October 31, 2001
(by digitalmediafx.com) Presales for Sid Meiers Civilization III are high as the third installment of the popular civilization-building series prepares to launch at the end of this month.

Civilization III

"The pre-sales of Civilization III have really taken off," said Ron Seger, vice president, product line sales for Infogrames. "Early on we met with some of our retail partners about a special edition of the game that would be limited to a small production run. The positive response to this idea was universal. We put together the limited edition for those fans that want more in their Civilization III experience. The gamers who score one of these tin-box limited edition games on launch day could have a real collector's item."

The referenced limited edition is a one-time run of 75,000 copies of a special edition of the game. Click here for pre-order details. The limited edition does not interfere with the regular edition of Civilization III, which can be found here.

The limited edition of Sid Meier's Civilization III comes packaged in a tin box that contains an exclusive video chronicling the making of Civilization III, a second video celebrating Sid Meier's induction into the IDSA Hall of Fame, designer's notes from Sid Meier and Jeff Briggs, a fold-out tech tree, and the Civilization III game and manual.

In Civilization III players choose one of 16 fledgling civilizations and, if they are masterful, guide them to global domination through development of technologies, cultural achievement, trade with other civilizations and all the other skills that make a civilization great.
