Harry
Potter - $29 Million Opening Friday!
(by digitalmediafx.com) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's
Stone opened huge yesterday, bringing in $29.4 million in
its first day of release. This sets the movie on a track to gross
over $80 million by the time the weekend is over, breaking every
opening box office record ever. The movie sent Monsters, Inc.
tumbling to only $5.6 million, taking a massive drop of more than
50% from last Friday.
Audiences
also gave Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone near perfect
A+ ratings like Monsters,
Inc. received when it first came out (ratings by Cinema
Score which polls audiences). Both Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's
Stone and Monsters, Inc. are now the highest rated
movies, by audiences, of the year.

Bruce Lee
3D
(by digitalmediafx.com) If a South Korean filmmaker has his
way, Bruce Lee will return to life as a photorealistic CGI character.
Filmmaker Chul Shin is almost done developing software that will
bring Bruce Lee back to life in a photorealistic form designed
to make audiences watching a live action movie believe that it
is really Bruce Lee starring in the film. Shin claims that his
process is better than the characters in Final Fantasy, which
he claims lacked "vitality".
The first
movie being developed with the Bruce Lee CGI character is called
Dragon Warriors and is scheduled to be released in 2004.
