Estimate: Monsters, Inc. Scores $46.2 Million
(by digitalmediafx.com) Monsters, Inc. is estimated
to have made $46.2 million in its second weekend, a figure above
most analyst predictions for its first weekend when it made a
record breaking $62.6 million.
The second weekend tally represents a small 26% decrease from
last weekend.
Monsters,
Inc. passed the $100 million mark over the weekend, making
it the fastest animated movie to become a blockbuster. Final results
will be posted by Digital Media FX on Tuesday morning.

According to nineMSN (AP):
"A group
of American animators have voiced their concern for the cartoon
industry, following the impact of the September 11 terrorist attacks
upon the US entertainment and arts industry. They attended the
Art Institute of Pittsburgh's four-day animation conference where
they discussed how their industry might respond in the wake of
the terrorist attacks..."
