PBS Extends Clifford the Big Red Dog Contract
Clifford the Big Red Dog(by digitalmediafx.com) PBS has ordered 25 additional episodes of Clifford the Big Red Dog after the animated series picked up five Daytime Emmy Nominations. Clifford the Big Red Dog is produced by Scholastic Entertainment and was just launched last September. It ranks #1 among all new children series introduced this season.

According to PBS, Clifford the Big Red Dog's popularity began with its launch, when, for its debut week, the series claimed the highest average rating among metered market households than any other children's show debuting on PBS KIDS in the last two years.

The half hour series airs every Monday through Friday, following the adventures of the biggest and reddest dog ever, his "human," Emily Elizabeth, and their pals on Birdwell Island. It is based on the book series by Norman Bridwell.

Dragonball Z is bringing in the biggest numbers, placing first in its time period among boys 9-14, teens 12-17 and males 12-17. Intermittently throughout the three-hour programming block, Toonami features popular music, computer generated 3-D animation segments and the block's host, TOM, an animated character who inhabits the space vessel Absolution.

News Link of the Day - Nintendo Expands to Mature Audiences

According to the San Jose Mercury News:

"With one remarkably symbolic product, the video-game company famous for Pokémon and Donkey Kong may be risking decades of parental good will in order to expand its appeal to an adult audience that has outgrown sanitized humor.

Nintendo, one of the industry's dominant forces, broke precarious new ground this month with the release of Conker's Bad Fur Day, a comically vulgar video game for adults..."
