Shrek Easily Passes
$125 Million Mark
On Friday, the number of theaters Shrek was playing in expanded from 3,623 to 3,661. It made $6.7 million on Friday to bring its total to $126.9 million in just 15 days.

While the U.S. continues
to procrastinate in advancing the technology, Japan is already set to
open its second all-digital cinema complex on July 13, 2001 in Niigata.
Japanese studios broadcast films via satellite, which are received at
the theater complex and digitally projected to the appropriate movie screen.
