Lawsuit
Filed Over "Shrek Swirl" Ice Cream
(by digitalmediafx.com) Baskin-Robbins is being sued by the
parents of a five year old California girl who was hospitalized
after eating a special Shrek Swirl (sour apple sherbert and grape
ice cream with Pop Rocks candy sprinkled on top). Shortly after
eating the Baskin-Robbins treat, that helps promote DreamWorks
Shrek movie, the girl's stomach apparently began to swell and
she experienced intense stomache pains. She was rushed to a medical
center where a tube was inserted into her stomache to relieve
air pressure. The problem was attributed to the Shrek Swirl treat
and the use of Pop Rocks candy with it. The parents decided to
sue Baskin-Robbins only after their request for the ice cream
chain to remove Shrek Swirl was refused.

Michel was traveling more than 100,000 miles a year as vice president
of sales and marketing for a health-care consulting firm -- so
when he was home he made up stories about his travels for his
son, John, then 2 1/2. Soon the airplanes had names and Michel
expanded the stories...A few weeks ago, PBS introduced "Jay
Jay the Jet Plane" in its summer schedule
