the Pussycats - From Animation to Live Action
(by digitalmediafx.com) On April 6, 2001 a live action version
of the classic cartoon series Josie and the Pussycats will hit
theaters nationwide. The live action movie follows the cartoon
series in that Josie and the Pussycats are a band of girls that
dress like cats, but spend a lot of time solving crimes and mysteries.
In the movie, Josie and the Pussycats must stop an evil person
from brainwashing the youth of America in an attempt to rule the
cartoon series will be capitalizing on the live action film by
the series being released to video. March 27 represents the video
debut for Josie and the Pussycats with two videos, "The Melody
Memory Mix-Up" and "Chile Today, Hot Tamale!",
both priced at $14.95 SRP. Each exclusive-to-video releases from
Warner Home Video contains four episodes, providing over two hours
of crime-busting action and groovin' tunes.
Josie and the Pussycats cartoon series premiered after its debut
as a popular comic book from the widely known Archie comic book
series (over 60 Josie and the Pussycats issues have been released).
Cartoon Network re-aired the original series from 1998-1999 and
episodes are now currently airing in over two million homes on
Cartoon Network's new cable network Boomerangtv. Kid Rhino is
releasing an all-new Josie and the Pussycats CD featuring classic
songs from the original series in Summer 2001.
