Strong Overseas According to Daily Variety, In Italy, Final Fantasy "reaped about $277,000 on Friday and hit No. 1 in a field awash with newcomers, including heavyweights Spy Kids and Shrek." Final Fantasy
is also performing strong in Spain (#2), Austria (#1) and Germany (#1).
This is good news for Square, which failed to interest U.S. audiences.
The movie could only muster a grand total of $32 million in the U.S..
