LOTR Gets Computerized
Shrek Crosses $350
Million Mark Worldwide
(by digitalmediafx.com) DreamWorks Shrek has crossed
the $350 million mark worldwide
as it continues to perform well in several domestic and overseas markets.
The movie has made over $250 million domestically and over $100 million
overseas. $28 million of the overseas gross has come from the U.K.
DreamWorks is prepping
a special Shrek
2-Disc DVD for release later this year.

Osmosis Jones World
Premiere Set for August 7
(by digitalmediafx.com) The world premiere for Osmosis Jones will
take place on Tuesday, August 7, at The Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
Attending the premiere will be Bill Murray, Laurence Fishburne, Brandy
Norwood, William Shatner, Molly Shannon, producer/director Bobby Farrelly
and animation directors Piet Kroon and Tom Sito, plus celebrity guests.
Osmosis Jones
is a mixture of live action and animation and opens nationwide on August
10. It's only PG-rated competition will be Spy Kids: Special Edition,
which opens August 8.

Norman Wright Passes
Away
(by digitalmediafx.com) Disney animation writer Norman Wright has
passed away at the age of 91. Wright was the last living writer from Disney's
Fantasia. While working for Disney Animation, Wright held many
various positions including animator, writer, and director. One of Wright's
most famous sequences was "The Nutcracker Suite" for Fantasia.

Entertainment News:
"The Lord of
the Rings is set for high-resolution fun and frolics, with plans to launch
computer games and consoles based on the movie franchise from later this
year (01).
Computer game manufacturer
Electronic Arts has signed a contract with New Line Cinema to develop
the series..."
