Pearl Harbor to Dominate Memorial Weekend
(by digitalmediafx.com) Pearl Harbor has Memorial Day Weekend all to itself as studios have strayed away from releasing any major motion pictures against Disney's guaranteed mega-blockbuster epic drama. Look for major newsmagazine stories to soon be hitting newsstands as the troubled production looks for critical acclaim amongst an audience of epic proportions.

Disney's subsidiary, Touchstone Pictures, is the distributor for the film. The special effects were created by the wizards at Industrial Light and Magic.

In many ways, Pearl Harbor has been following the business model of Titanic; take an "epic love story" and place it against the backdrop of a major disaster. According to Touchstone Pictures, "It is a tale of catastrophic defeat, heroic victory, personal courage and overwhelming love set against a stunning backdrop of spectacular wartime action."

Here are two images from the upcoming Pearl Harbor movie:

Spy Kids Rule Box Office Again
(by digitalmediafx.com) The FX filled Spy Kids movie is unstoppable at the Box Office. Weekend estimates show the film grossing nearly $13 million for the weekend to easily claim first place at the Box Office for the third straight week. Meanwhile, Josie and the Pussycats had a poor opening, bringing in only $5.2 for the weekend. Pokemon 3 continued to perform poorly, grossing only $2.7 million in its second weekend for a 10 day total of $13 million. At this rate, Pokemon 3 will finish its run at around $20 million.

News Link of the Day - Big Adventures of Tiny Heroes

According to The Washington Post:

"When it comes to courage, size doesn't matter, says author Brian Jacques.

That's why mice are the heroes in his 'Redwall' book series. 'It is mainly the small creature who is overcoming adversity' in his adventures, he said.

The animated 'Redwall' PBS series, based on Jacques' books, will air at 10:30 a.m. Sundays on WNET/Channel 13..."
