Short Speech
Major PR Boost for Animated Short Winner
(by
digitalmediafx.com) As reported in yesterday's Digital
Media FX newsletter (emailed to subscribers the 1st
and 15th of each month), Michael Dudok de Wit won a $2,500 HDTV
set for giving the shortest speech at the Academy Awards. De
Wit won the category for Best Animated Short, but has
since discovered that his short speech, lasting a mere 18 seconds,
has propelled recognition of him to all star status.
Since the
Academy Awards, dozens of high profile publications like the LA
Times and TV Guide have written detailed articles on Michael Dudok
de Wit because of his short speech. In many venues, he is receiving
more coverage than Best Actress winner Julia Roberts who delivered
a speech nearly four minutes long.
De Wit's animated
short is titled "Father and Daughter" and is eight minutes
long. For more information on the win and the animated short,
