Saitek Showcases New PS2 Pad with LCD Display

(May 17, 2001) Saitek Industries has unveiled a new console gaming pad with an LCD display for game mode, macrobutton input, and turbo function mode.

In addition to the unique LCD display, the PX5000 pad for PlayStation 2 features turbo mode for all action buttons, DoubleShock 2 vibration, four analog action buttons, four analog triggers, analog D-pad, programmable macro function for programmable “combos,” improved axis lock operation, and ten feet of cable.

Saitek also announced its PX4500 Game Pad, a lower priced basic PS2 gamepad with all of the PX5000 features except the LCD display and programmability.

The RX500 Wheel is included in Saitek’s new PS2 roll out. The new analog wheel features full DualShock 2 support and boasts a complete PS2 control button array for total game compatibility. The design features four analog buttons on the wheel, analog levers for gearshifting, a three-spoke sports wheel with central D-pad, new extended foot pedals for extra stability, and easy-to-use clamping mechanism. The RX500 also supports analog/digital/negcon modes.

These new releases from Saitek are expected to ship this summer.
