Page 3 - Main Floor Interactive Area -
"The Vortex"
After
leaving Whitmore's Library you can travel under the "Disney's
Atlantis The Lost Empire" sign and into an interactive
room on the main floor referred to as "The Vortex".
Upon entering "The Vortex," visitors are greated
with another well-themed room full of various exhibits
and activities.
One of the popular exhibits in "The Vortex"
is the ocean life exhibit (starfish, etc.) that visitors
are allowed to touch and interact with.
These Atlantean bridges shake and every three minutes
the large display in the background blows out a huge ring
of smoke that travels the distance of the entire room.
Another popular activity in "The Vortex" room
is riding the Atlantean Ketak vehicles (there are two
of them). Visitors get on the vehicles and as soon as
they place their thumbs onto the controls, the vehicles
come to life.
Disney's multiplayer PC game - Trial by Fire - is set
up for visitors to enjoy. There are six stations and all
are networked so that visitors can compete with each other.
The large sphere gives off an illuminating lighting effect
and sits atop several bubble machines.
