Atlantis:
The Lost Empire - Trailer #1
The first trailer does a great job at outlining what
Atlantis: The Lost Empire is about. The trailer
opens with clips from the destruction of Atlantis, then
jumps years ahead to Washington D.C. where a young Milo
Thatch is trying to convince a group of scholars that
Atlantis exists. The trailer continues with clips of some
mysterious people who want to provide Thatch with the
means to find Atlantis. The trailer also provides a brief
introduction to Thatch's crew and the expedition. Trailer
rating: 8.5 out of 10.
Atlantis:
The Lost Empire - Trailer #2
The second trailer is very visual in nature. The only
words spoken come half way through the trailer when you
hear a narrator say, "Atlantis is waiting."
The clips at the beginning of the trailer are longer and
more mysterious in nature (the one with the creature swimming
behind the submarine is awesome). After you hear the words
"Atlantis is waiting," a series of faster paced
clips give quick visual glimpses into the animated film.
Trailer Rating: 7.5 out of 10.
Atlantis:
The Lost Empire - 60 Second TV Commercial
The 60-second TV commercial for Atlantis shows quite
a few scenes not seen in the movie trailers, including
a clip where the Atlantis Princess places her hand on
Milo Thatch's chest, leaving a glowing hand imprint. The
commercial is narrated - "In a single day and night
of misfortune, the island of Atlantis disappeared into
the depths of the sea." The narration takes place
with extended scenes in the first half of the commercial
with quick scenes to faster paced music taking place in
the second half of the commercial. It ends with the words,
"Coming to Theaters June 15." Commercial Rating:
7.0 out of 10.
Atlantis:
Trial By Fire Prequel Video Game Trailer
Disney is doing some unique marketing by offering a prequel
video game called "Trial By Fire" that introduces
the backstory for the Atlantis: The Lost Empire movie.
This trailer shows clips from the video game without any
talking or narration. There is a few words in the Atlantis
language spoken at the end, without translation. Game
Trailer Rating: 3 out of 10.
Where
the Dream Takes You Music Video
This music video, by Mya, is from the song "Where
the Dream Takes You" for Disney's Atlantis.
It features Mya singing and several clips from the movie.
