Voyage
to Atlantis This Sunday
(June
9, 2001 - by digitalmediafx.com) On Sunday, June 10, at
8PM, ABC will air a one hour special titled "Voyage
to Atlantis: The Lost Empire." The TV special examines
the latest scientific and technical evidence suggesting
Atlantis not only existed in the past, but that it will
be rediscovered in our immediate future.
The
subject of countless books, movies and TV shows, Atlantis
has always been presented in a shroud of myth, fantasy,
hearsay and supposition. Now, using interviews and never-before-seen
footage from some of the world's most noted explorers,
archaeologists and oceanographers, what may be the first
positive proof of Atlantis is revealed.
Among
the theories and ideas the special explores are:
*
A tie-in between Noah's flood and the destruction of
Atlantis.
*
A theory of continental drift whereby landmasses coming
together result in an absence of solid land at the center,
exactly where Atlantis would have been located.
*
A peculiar animal migratory phenomenon -- Several Atlantic
species, including birds, lemmings and eels, leave their
homes to travel hundreds of miles west across the ocean,
where they circle and eventually die precisely where
Atlantis is believed to have been located.
The
special concludes with never-before-seen footage of the
latest deep-ocean expedition that may uncover even more
evidence of the existence of Atlantis.
The
special is sponsored by Atlantis: The Lost Empire
movie and includes a sneak peek at the animated movie.
