Readies Atlantis: The Lost Empire
(March
25, 2001 - by digitalmediafx.com) Disney is putting the
final touches on its marketing campaign leading up to
the release of its newest animated adventure, Atlantis:
The Lost Empire. The PG-rated animated film opens
in theaters nationwide on June 15, 2001 and will be competing
directly against Paramount Pictures live action Tomb
Raider movie.
Atlantis:
The Lost Empire is about an inexperienced young adventurer
who becomes the key to unraveling an ancient mystery when
he joins up with a group of daredevil explorers to find
the legendary lost empire of Atlantis.
Atlantis:
The Lost Empire is directed by Gary Trousdale and
Kirk Wise. It was written by Tab Murphy, who also helped
write Tarzan and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
The
main character of the film, Milo Thatch (shown in the
first picture below) is voiced by Michael J. Fox.
The
score for Atlantis: The Lost Empire is composed
by James Newton Howard who was recently recognized with
an Animatasia Award (recognizing excellence in the animation
industry) for "Best Animated Soundtrack" for
his Dinosaur compositions.
